Since 2004, Hogar Luz de María has provided protection, care and comprehensive support to girls and boys whose rights have been violated, offering them a safe place to grow and build new opportunities.
Transforming lives with love, protection and hope.
Who are we?
We are a private, non-profit association that provides shelter and protection to girls and boys facing abandonment, orphanhood, abuse or social risk. We cover their basic needs and offer programs that support their comprehensive development, in a place where their rights are respected and they feel loved.
Vision
To consolidate a center able to provide shelter and protection to girls and boys whose human rights have been violated, implementing programs for their comprehensive development, and to give families tools for positive parenting, so that these children grow into productive people who make a positive impact on their country.
Mission
We are a non-governmental, non-profit association committed to children whose human rights have been violated, providing shelter, protection and comprehensive care through programs designed to improve their quality of life, and working with families to teach and strengthen values, principles and good parenting practices to transform their lives and their future.
Our story
2004
In April, Hogar Luz de María was born to protect and care for girls and boys in vulnerable situations.
Every day
We have worked to offer a safe, family-like environment, walking with each child through every stage of their development. Over the years, the Home has grown and strengthened its programs and services.
Today
Our purpose remains the same: to protect children and give them opportunities to build a better future. More than 2,100 girls and boys have passed through our home.
Our values
Six threads that hold together everything we do.
Love
Every child is welcomed with affection, respect and care, in an environment that seeks emotional healing.
Protection
We prioritize the physical and emotional safety of the children, giving them a home free from violence.
Respect
Our work focuses on restoring the violated rights of children.
Responsibility
We are committed to the well-being of the children and to a positive impact on the community.
Transformation
We want every child to have the chance to grow and become a productive person for their country.
Education in values
We walk with families through positive parenting, strengthening ethical and human principles.
